    Description

    Hello!
    This auction is for a MINT NEVER HINGED IMPERFORATE ERROR Coil Pair of Scott # 1897Ac, the 2c Locomotive from the First Transportation Series. When viewed under shortwave ultraviolet, two 1mm thick horizontal untagged lines extending completely across both stamps are evident. The distance between these lines corresponds to the distance between precancel lines. This occurred because old precancel mats were used as tagging mats, and the precancel lines on the mats were not completely burnished out.
    The 20121 Scott catalogue value for this pair is .00. The above scan represents the imperforate pair that you will receive.
    The gum is in excellent condition---there are no fingerprints or gum skips.
