Vintage US NAVY USN Silver & Gold Vermeil Anchor Pin

Description

This is a WWII vintage USN Anchor Pin. It measures 1-3/4" L x 1-1/8" wide. It is a white tone metal and gold ton metal anchor. I think it may be silver, but it is not marked so I cannot attest to that. The pin is straight and not damaged in back, as shown in photos.
This pin belonged to my late father-in-law (E. J. Aldis). He served in WWII as an electrician on several ships in WWII, including the USS Arizona. A longtime Navy veteran. He died long before I met my late husband, but I know he was a good man and loved the Navy. He served all over including Guantanamo Bay, Rhode Island, and San Diego.
My late husband brought home various items of his dad's from the time he served and this pin is one of them.
I love it, but really it would be better to be in a collection than to sit in a drawer.
