These decals are precision cut vinyl. There is no background, or clear backing. The background is the surface to which you apply the decal. A smooth, clean surface is REQUIRED for good adhesion. Proper install leads to a long lasting decal! **The adhesive will NOT stick to dashes that have a protective coating (such as Armor All) on them, body panels that have a wax or other protective coating on them, or windows that have been treated with Rain-x or other such product. These protective products are designed to make it so that things WILL NOT stick to the surfaces, therefore the decals WILL fail.** Please know what you are applying the decal to before purchasing.
