Maurice Tisseyre was born on July 1, 1920 in
Estagel
(Eastern Pyrenees - Occitanie);
gifted for the arts, he left for the capital to follow his vocation.
So in 1942, he met Janine Marca, at the National School of Fine Arts
that they both frequent.
In the midst of the war and braving the administrative and military difficulties of the time, they married in 1943.
The couple moved to Paris, where for more than forty years
Janine and Maurice Tisseyre, both plastic art teachers, live in the legendary Montmartre district.
They will participate in many exhibitions
Close-knit couple having lived and worked together for 70 years,
the two artists have
very different artistic universes
Maurice Tisseyre
is a wonderful
designer and landscaper
, most often using gouache or pencil;
the landscapes of its dear Languedoc-Roussillon, around Estagel, are quite remarkable, sunny landscapes planted with vines and gnarled trees, but its seascapes are also of very high quality
(Menton, Quiberon, Côte Landaise, Côte vermeille), as well as its
miscellaneous
from France or abroad
(the two painters will make many trips together around the world,
and will stay for a while in North Africa)

has a sharper style and large
bold colors
,
she also excels in
engraving
;
his imagination is very
poetic, dreamlike
, close to the fantastic,
sometimes mystical or religious universe (we owe him several works of interior decorations of churches, Stations of the Cross and ceramic projects, engravings of religious spirit, representations of the Virgin or of Christ)
