Purchased in Maine, this beautiful U.S. Navy Officer’s Presentation Dress Sword was given to Arthur E. Wegner (1937-2014) who accomplished a long and impressive career.
He was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1960 whereby actively serving as a Nuclear Submarine Officer.
In 1967, he went on to receive his MBA at Harvard and then became President of United Technologies Corporation’s (UTC) Aerospace and Defense Sector.
At UTC, he was responsible for several operating companies including Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky and Hamilton Standard.
Following his 20 year career at UTC, he became Chairman and CEO of Raytheon Aircraft in Wichita, KS until his retirement in 2000. His lifelong contributions also garnered him Honoree, Air and Space Friend on the Wall of Honor in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
This unique and beautiful U.S. Navy Officer’s Presentation Dress Sword includes Scabbard and Case and would be a wonderful addition to any Naval, Aerospace or Militaria collection.
